Recycling generally

Equally, many species have looked at grazer nutrient recycling, generally for N in marine waters and for P in freshwaters, but rarely were both nutrients taken into account or their relative recycling rates looked at. [Pg.206]

Many different reclaiming processes [8, 13, 15-17, 19-22] have been applied through the years in an attempt to solve the problem of rubber recycling. Generally, ground rubber scrap is, in most cases, the feedstock for the devulcanization step. Warner [13] and recently Adhikari et al. [23] and Isayev [24] presented reviews of the existing literature that is relevant to various methods of devulcanization. [Pg.665]

Recyclability requires rates and yields of reactions to be maintained at a reasonable level after repeated reactions. In particular, reactions containing a transition metal catalyst immobilized into the IL of a biphasic reaction system have proved to be recyclable. Generally, recycling is based on the non-volatile nature of ILs and the solubility differences between ILs, organic compounds and water. Products can be extracted from ILs with a nonpolar solvent or they can be separated by distillation. A water-immiscible IL can be washed with water to get a water-soluble product or side products out of the reaction mixture [Karkkainen, 2007]. [Pg.250]

The prodegradant structural inhomogeneities and nonpolymeric impurities may negatively affect the recyclate lifetime. With the formation of new pro-oxi-dative functional moieties a substantial part of the stabilizers added for the first lifetime are simultaneously consumed. As a consequence the mechanical properties of commingled plastic recyclates generally do not meet material expectations. Increase in resistance to degradation by proper restabilization and the recovery of... [Pg.552]
