Recording Parameters

Another type of ordinate scale variation is absorbance presentation. For this purpose the normal transmittance drive shaft is coupled to a set of logarithmic gears or a logarithmic potentiometer which translates the information directly to an absorbance scale.

The following parameters are derived from the recorded parameters as percentages ... 

The heme optical density of a hemoprotein and the fluorescence intensity of the unique Trp residue of the protein are recorded at hydrostatic pressures between 0 and 4 kbar. The two recorded parameters increase with hydrostatic pressure. Explain in five to seven lines.

The manufacturing parameters are kept constant by automatic remote control. Among recorded parameters is the Redox value of the spent acid fully described in Chapter XI. In case of any irregularity the plant is automatically stopped and an alarm given in the control room. 

Recently demonstrated possibilities of recording mass spectrometric data on magnetic tape offer the intriguing prospect of recreating the course of an experiment in its entirety at will. This allows an evaluation of the collected information by studying the relationship of a particular event with any combination of recorded parameters.

XRD analysis was performed on a Siemens D500 powder diffractometer using CuKa radiation (X(CuKal) = 0.15406 nm). Standard diffractograms recording parameters were dwell time = 1 s, step = 0.05°, 20 range = 10 to 90°, divergence slit = 1° for precise cell parameter determination dwell time = 10 s, step = 0.02°. 

Each analytical result obviously must apply to the sample for which it is reported. Any mix-up must be avoided. The Chain of Custody system was developed to ensure that the reported result applies to the sample collected at the recorded time and location, and not to another sample inserted by mistake or to deceive. The recorded parameters are available for comparison with those specified in the monitoring protocol. Meticulousness in adhering to protocol is crucial for samples analyzed for legal or regulatory purposes. The format of the Chain of Custody form must match the QAP for all samples.

Figure 4.156 illustrates the detailed technical drawing of a dynamic mechanical analyzer by TA Instraments. The sample is enclosed in a variable, constant-temperature environment, not shown, so that the recorded parameters are stress, strain, time, frequency, and temperature. This instrument can be used for resonant and defined-frequency operation. Even creep and stress relaxation measurements can be performed. The composite figures of pressure, mass, internal fluid, and external shell temperatures indicate no unusual characteristics in the recorded parameters such as were noted previously in the 20% fill trial.
