Reconfiguration patterns

From the supply chain network perspective, there are five main reconfiguration patterns ... 

Figure 4.1 depicts the structural reconfiguration patterns. The graphical notation is used to show supply chain units added or removed as the result of reconfiguration, as well as supply chain links added or removed. This graphical representation is useful to show a to-be supply chain network after the reconfiguration assuming that the supply chain network shown in Fig. 2.3 illustrated the as-is supply chain network. 

Figures 13.10 to 13.16 present a visual explanation for the pattern of mass- and current-potential curves that is obtained in this system. One strategy for making L smaller without the need for more precise processing is to reconfigure the device as a vertical structure, and two examples are illustrated in Fig. 10.10. These reconfiguration options are shown in Fig. 4.3. Changes in other parts of the supply chain are not considered and corresponding units and links are shown as fixed. This reconfiguration example corresponds to the reconfiguration by expansion pattern.

Optical interconnections are also starting to be important for solving connectivity problems in large electronic systems [36]. Such interconnections may use free space optics rather than guided wave, and the interconnection patterns may be reconfigur-able [37, 38]. Liquid crystal devices may have a role here [39].
