Recall urticaria

Recall urticaria occurred in a 42-year-old woman at previous dalteparin injection sites in the abdomen when she was given intracutaneous dalteparin and certoparin in the forearms [112 ].

Tamoxifen has several adverse effects on the skin, including edema, flushing, rashes, hyperhidrosis, urticaria, alopecia, and hypertrichosis. Radiation recall dermatitis, a severe painful inflammatory skin reaction in sites that have previously been exposed to ionized radiation, can occur in patients taking tamoxifen (59). In one case the tamoxifen was withdrawn and the skin healed spontaneously in 7 weeks (60). Toremifene, a tamoxifen analogue, was well tolerated during 18 months of continuous treatment no signs of radiation recall developed. 

Skin effects were prominent in patients treated with the high doses needed in mahgnancies, including morbilliform rashes in 67%, UV recall in 35%, urticaria in 18%, and keratotic papules in 12% (31). Late reactions include various skin eruptions, hyperesthesia and paresthesia (particularly affecting the palms and soles of the feet) erythema multiforme as part of a generalized skin reaction has been well documented in some individual cases (32) and toxic epidermal necrolysis has been reported (33).
