The study area usually shallow landslides and the groundwater level is deep. Therefore, we do not consider the impact of the uplift of the groundwater level and water weakening effect on the slope stability, using an infinite slope stability calculation model based on the transient rainfall infiltration model analysis. 

Province. During the test we had three precipitation processes, the first time, total 44 mm rainfall lasts 70 min with the infiltration rate 66%, the second time, total 62 mm rainfall lasts 90 min with the infiltration rate 67%, the third time, total 76 mm rainfall lasts 60 min with the infiltration rate 40%. Kg as the ratio of rainfall infiltration and the duration of rainfall was 7.28 X 10 m/s. The hydraulic diffusivity (A) of loess is set to one hundred times of Kg 7.28 X lO " mVs. Kg of silty clay is set to 1 x 10 m/s and Dg is set to 1 x 10 mVs, as shown in Figure 6. 

In this study, TRIGRS was used to evaluate the effects of transient rainfall infiltration on the timing and locations of landslides. After a 5-hour simulation, Pp > 60% which indicates the slope instability was used to analyse the susceptibility of the loess slope under three different rainfall intensity.

Just two years after the Deposit of Poisonous Waste Act was passed it was replaced by the Control of PolluHon Act 1974. Earlier legislation on waste disposal had been led by a public health perspective with no concern for the wider environmental issues related to leachate and landfill gas. There was no classification of waste and no control over what types of waste were deposited in landfill sites. There are numerous stories of dead cows, chemical drums etc. being deposited in landfill sites. Sites were usually capped off with a layer of soil to cover the waste and without any thought of controlling gas emissions or rainfall infiltration. 

To examine leachabilty of soils under mild extraction conditions which mimic rainfall infiltration, to assess the potential for groundwater contamination during site development.
