Racial whiteness

Racially, white patients account for 61% of all drug-related hospital visits in the United States, followed by black (26%) and Hispanics (11%). With the exception of rohypnol, the 69-80% of all club drug incidents recorded by Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) involve white, non-Hispanic patients—a fairly typical reflection of the U.S. population. A far larger share (56%) of rohypnol mentions are attributed to Hispanic patients, but this may have to do with the small sample size available to researchers. 

On this note, it seems fitting that this right is formulated in the positive terms of loyalty, since it offers a misleading comfort to all parties involved that the affirmation of multiracial identity is not, as it were, a betrayal. I begin by rephrasing Lyotard s maxim this way whiteness canmt form a body. Despite this inability, or perhaps because of it, it continually attempts to do so. In a sense, whiteness is the very attempt to form this body, to manufacture a particular type of delimited body. Racial whiteness can be understood as a means for mastering the trauma of an experience without categories and without unity, which has no positive content (Shaviro 1990, 3), a traumatically uncategorized, incoherent experience that I call the event of miscegenation —an abject scene of excessive passion...
