Quantifiable servicing standard

Adherence to a quantifiable servicing standard and provision of an overall cooling system program management service... [Pg.316]

Calibration of the intensities of the radiation flelds is traceable to the NIST. The ionization chambers and electrometers used by the service laboratories to quantify the intensity of the radiation fields must be calibrated by the NIST or an accredited secondary standards laboratory. The intensity of the field is assessed in terms of air kerma or exposure (free-in-air), with the field collimated to minimize unwanted scatter. Conversion coefficients relate the air kerma or exposure (free-in-air) to the dose equivalent at a specified depth in a material of specified geometry and composition when the material is placed in the radiation field. The conversion coefficients vary as a function of photon energy, angle of incidence, and size and shape of backscatter mediiun. [Pg.9]

Requirements specified in this way are deemed-to-satisfy rules. Such rules cannot be used to quantify the performance of the structure in general, specific effects of additional measures (for instance increasing the cover to the steel), or the consequences of sub-standard practice (for example using a higher w/c). In this respect it is important to note that EN 206 also allows the use of alternative performance-related design methods with respect to durability that consider in a quantitative way each relevant deterioration mechanism, the service life of the element or structure, and the criteria that define the end of the service life. Such methods should draw a picture of the characteristics that the concrete must possess to protect the reinforcement for the service life requested from a predictive model of the corrosion attack. These refined methods (as opposed to standard methods) may be based on long-term experience with local practices in local environments, on data from an established performance test method for the relevant mechanism, or on the use of proven predictive models. [Pg.176]

ISO 14001, an international standard describing the basic elements of an environmental meuiagement system, calls for identification of the environmental aspects and impacts of a company s products, processes, and services [Block 1997]. Industrial engineers may develop the information systems to quantify environmental aspects such as input materials, discharges, and energy consumption [Alexander 1996] (Stuart et al. 1998). [Pg.539]

It was possible to determine 0.2% of intact triglycerides in the presence of 95% phospholipids by the standard addition method (Spectral Service, unpublished). Monoglycerides, sterols or free fatty acids do not disturb the determination and can be quantified by the same method. [Pg.93]

Experimental procedure The measurements of exposure to WBV was in accordance with methodological recommendation of ISO 2631-1 (1997) and ISO 2631-5 (2004) standards. Data were collected from the seat pan and the floor of the bus. Data obtained on the floor allow quantifying the parameter SEAT (Seat Effective Amplitude Transmissibility). In both cases, data collection was performed according x, y and z-axis. Monitoring consisted in measurements in all route defined, in each driver performed four complete journeys. The routes were completed in the usual daily transport service. [Pg.322]
