PYRO-CHEK Flame Retardant Additives

Pyro-Chek 68PB flame retardant additive is a brominated polystyrene polymer, and is therefore both thermoplastic and polymeric in nature. It is unique in that this polymeric additive will fuse at higher compounding temperatures and melt-blend into the host polyoier system. This property results in both excellent dispersibility and subsequent molding perforaiance.

In addition, the additives act as secondary plasticizers in, for example, coating and film applications where flexibility of the finished product is required. Because of this, the 2unounts of plasticizers normally used can be reduced to produce cost savings while achieving the desired flame retardancy. 

In order to improve the flame retarding action of these Bromoklor additives, antimony trioxide can be eaq loyed as a flame retarding synergist in these applications which tolerate the use of a powdered additive. Also, the Broamklor additives can be emulsified easily for use in water-based systems.
