Protection systems personnel competence

The competence of personnel who select, design, install, test, and maintain fire protection systems is ultimately the factor that controls the effectiveness and reliability of fire protection systems. Many of the personnel described in the following sections are subject to jurisdictional requirements for licensing. [Pg.127]

Proprietary systems are used for individual properties where the system is under constant supervision by competent and experienced personnel in a central supervisory station at the property protected. Such systems are usually found in large industrial plants signals are received at a central supervisory station where experienced operators are on duty at all times.
