Janusz, M., Wieczorek, Z., Spiegel, K., Kubik, A., Szewczuk, Z., Siemion, I., and Lisowski, J. 1987. Immunoregulatory properties of synthetic peptides, fragments of a proline-rich polypeptide (PRP) from ovine colostrum. Mol. Immunol. 24, 1029-1031. [Pg.257]

The reaction has been studied in a cell-free system. Microsomes obtained from chick embryos containing proline-rich polypeptides were incubated with ascorbic acid and a soluble protein fraction. If the incubation took place anaerobically, no hydroxyproline was formed. In contrast, when it was done aerobically, 4-hydroxyproline appeared. Hydroxyproline can he released from the polypeptide into the acid-soluble fraction with the aid of collagenase. [Pg.284]
