Polypropylene [9003-07-0] is made by the polymerization of propylene gas. Polypropylene (qv) sutures are available in clear (undyed) or blue (melt-pigmented with [phthalocyaninato(2-)] copper). Monofilament polypropylene sutures are sold under the trade names Deklene, Prolene, Surgdene, and Surgipro.
