As a project progresses through the various stages of the innovation process, the required level of detail of the business plan or deliverables becomes greater and more focused. This ensures that the allocation of resources to a project is in line with the degree of certainty of success. 

EXHIBIT 11.1 Early in the innovation project, there may be a low ratio of known/verified information compared to unverified assumptions and unknowns, ideaiiy, investment wiii also be low at this stage. As the project progresses, the level of verified knowiedge shouid increase relative to the project investment.
