Polymeric micelles were developed as a tumor-targeted delivery system for poorly water-soluble and toxic anticancer drugs. Preclinical studies have demonstrated reduced toxicity and enhanced accumulation of drugs in tumors with polymeric micelle systems. Issues such as sufficient in vivo stability and programmable drug release at the tumor sites need to be addressed in the future.

Q6 The exact mechanism of action of methylphenidate is not known. However, CNS stimulants generally cause the release of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline. The drug is normally used as part of a comprehensive treatment programme for ADHD under specialist supervision. 

Evaluation of these aftercare programmes has been promising and drop-out rates are low. Maybe even more than for those leaving drug treatment, support for drugusing prisoners on release is essential, both in order to avoid overdoses and to promote social integration.
