Most research papers that describe and conduct specific experiments, interpret experimental data, and evaluate the objective results of others, are often scientific in the nature and the tone of their writing style. In other words, these papers focus more on the accumulation of objective evidence, the various means by which data was tested and interpreted, and finally, the analysis of these results. Usually, these papers, by the specific nature of their subject matter and disciplines, are more focused in their scope. They are also more likely to be dictated in topic matter by a particular professor, professional discipline, or company. Some very broad ideas for possible topics in this area might include ... [Pg.135]

Pharmacy deals with the preparation and dispensing of medications. Although pharmacy is also frequently considered a subdivision of pharmacology, this area has evolved into a distinct professional discipline. Care must be taken not to use the terms pharmacy and pharmacology interchangeably, because these are quite different areas of study. [Pg.4]

Pharmacy The professional discipline dealing with the preparation and dispensing of medications. [Pg.630]

Today, combinatorial chemistry and molecular diversity (CCMD) technologies include interfaces with numerous scientific and professional disciplines. Informatics (see Fig. 1) is one of the buzz words of this new field, touching on many aspects of CCMD, as well... [Pg.265]

Worse yet is that this problem was created, in part, by the engineering professionals themselves. Unique to engineering, industrial suppliers have provided their clients with far more enhanced visibility into their actual costs of doing business than is the case in many other services. Many clients not only require to see the actual costs of items that are procured, but, in addition, look for detailed breakdowns of burdens and benefits, overheads and other items that make up the contractor s costs to provide services. Other professional disciplines, such as lawyers, have resisted this breakdown of costs and competition on margins. [Pg.97]

The professional disciplines represented at the Center include chemists, physicists, engineers, physicians, optometrists, audiologists, nurses, industrial hygienists, toxicologists, entomologists, and many others as well as sub-specialties within these professions. [Pg.265]

Another reason to learn and judge the benefits associated with job offers is too important to neglect although it is negative. The crucial, initial choice of one employer over another may be irreversible. In mid-life, as a result, changing employers without changing professional discipline is arduous if it is feasible at all. Chemical research and development experience is undervalued like other work experience. Here is what an independent pharmaceutical industry recruiter, Greg Clark (1995), says ... [Pg.14]

Domestic and foreign related laws, regulations, rules, norms, standards and other requirements Other professional disciplines, superior instructions, and other rules... [Pg.638]

Due to the topography, limited funds and interest of other professional disciplines some compromises had to be made during the implementation of the new systems. [Pg.140]

In the past three decades there have been major advances in our imder-standing of the chemistry and function of nutritional components. This has been enhanced by rapid developments in analytical techniques and instrumentation. Chemists, food scientists and nutritionists are, however, separated by divergent skills and professional disciplines. Hitherto this transdisdplinary divide has been difficult to bridge. [Pg.5]

As presented in Figure 1.1, each of the professional disciplines in an organization is competing for the attention of the decision makers who must allocate resources. The various... [Pg.14]
