Production of Blends by a Batch Process

These are the easiest to prepare. Both the continuous process and batch process can be used to prepare these blends. Here, five main activities are needed to complete compounding  

4) incorporation of components to form a vell mixed, uniform blend and create appropriate phase morphology 

5) conversion of finished compound into pellets for further processing. 

The blends may contain one or more rubber(s) and one or more plastic(s) that are partially miscible or technologically compatible. 

Batch size should be calculated to occupy 80-90% of the chamber volume of the Banbury for optimum mixing efficiency [10].
