Preparation hydrodenitrogenation

In this study, a novel Monolith alumina structure was of interest as a base (or a carrier) material for Co-Mo-Alumina catalysts. The specific interest centered around assessing the suitability of the catalyst prepared by impregnating the novel alumina support with Co and Mo for hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of a relatively high boiling stock. The Monolith catalyst was also tested on a low boiling coal-derived liquid. [Pg.210]

The hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) activities of two Co-Mo-alumina catalysts were tested on two coal derived liquids using a trickle bed reactor system. The two liquids used were Synthoil liquid (high-boiling stock) and Raw Anthracene Oil (low-boiling stock). One of the two catalysts was prepared in the laboratory at Oklahoma State University by... [Pg.226]

Early transition metal carbides with high surface area are active catalysts for various reactions such as hydrodenitrogenation(HDN) [1,2], hydrogenation [3,4], Fischer-Tropsch synthesis [5,6], hydrocarbon isomerization [7]. Synthesis of these materials has attracted great attention over the years and a number of procedures have been reported for the preparation of carbides with high surface areas suitable for catalysts. The most commonly employed method is temperature programmed reaction of metal oxide with a mixture of hydrogen and methane, which was developed by Boudart and co-workers [8-10]. [Pg.415]

Preparation and catalytic properties of Ir/alumina and Ir-Mo/alumina sulfide catalysts were studied in hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of pyridine and hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of thiophene. The Ir added to a Mo/alumina catalyst in amount... [Pg.443]

Abstract MoP/Si02 and M0P/AI2O3 can be prepared by treating supported Mo metal particles with phosphine and hydrogen. The resulting materials have high activities in the hydrodesulfurization of dibenzothiophene and the hydrodenitrogenation of o-methylaniline. [Pg.307]

Thus, these expanded clays have the thermal stability required of materials used in the preparation of catalysts for certain hydrocarbon conversion reactions, such as hydrodesulfurization, hydrodenitrogenation, hydrodemetallation, and the hydrocracking of oil fractions. [Pg.63]

The kinetics of the hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of o-toluidine was studied over alumina-supported sulfided timgsten catalysts prepared from tetrathiotungstate. The Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model was used to fit the data. The kinetic parameters were obtained by varying the initial reactant partial pressure and the reaction temperature. Fluorination of alumina increased the HDN rate constant, decreased the adsorption constant of o-toluidine, and increased the activation energies and the preexponential factors. [Pg.581]
