Two moss samples (Polytrichum commune, Thuidium tamariscinum), one alga sample (Cladophora fracta), and one microalga sample (Chlorella protothecoides) were subjected to pyrolysis and steam gasification for producing hydrogen-rich gas (Demirbas, unpublished work). [Pg.208]

The yields of bio-oil from the samples via pyrolysis are presented as a function of the temperature (K) in Fig. 6.21. The yield of bio-oil from pyrolysis of the samples increased with temperature, as expected. The yields were increased up to 750 K in order to reach the plateau values at 775 K. The maximum yields for Polytrichum commune, Thuidium tamarascinum, Cladophora fracta and Chlorella pro-tothecoides were 31.6, 37.3, 45.0 and 50.8% of the sample at 925 K, respectively.
