POE and polyolefin plastomers (POP) are ethylene alpha olefin copolymers produced using constrained geometry and metallocene catalyst. They differ from traditional polyolefins in that they have narrow molecular weight distribution and a regular placement of the octene co-monomer on the ethylene backbone. This highly uniform distribution allows for some unique plastic characteristics. 

The CG catalysts produce highly processable polyolefins with a unique combination of narrow MWD and long chain branches. Ethylene-octene copolymers produced with CG catalysts have useful properties across a range of densities and melting indexes. These novel copolymer families are called polyolefin plastomers (POP) and polyolefin elastomers (POE). POPs possess plastic and elastic properties while POEs containing greater than 20 wt% octene comonomer units have higher elasticity.

Wilkinson and Lamb 1999). The use of DEHP in domestically produced teethers and rattles has been discontinued (Consumer Product Safety Commission 1999d). DEHP is also no longer used as a plasticizer in plastic food wrap products (Mannsville Chemical Products Corporation 1999). In addition, some applications, like automobile upholstery, might switch from DEHP to linear phthalates because of their superior performance and low toxicity, which will put further downward pressure on DEHP use (Mannsville Chemical Products Corporation 1999). Finally, in the future, polyolefin metallocene plastomers might replace flexible applications for PVC altogether because they provide flexibility without the need for plasticizers. 

ExxonMobils Exact Plastomers are polyolefins produced using a comonomer, butene, hexene, and octene, which significantly affects the properties of the plastic and can be used as a property enhancer in blends with LLDPE or post-consumer recycled Hdpe.[ioi4] See pjg 30.01.
