Polymers plasma emission spectroscopy

The composition of inorganic additives in monomers and LCP were studied by plasma-emission spectroscopy teclmique. The example of KI-75 LCP, studied by TGA, shows the effect of some metal increments on thermal stability. The additive content was increased by injection of inorgaitic salts of appropriate metal into the polymer. Table 2 shows comparative data on Cu, Fe, Ni, Ca, and A1 content and temperatures of degradation initiation by TGA. [Pg.218]

Ihe resulting polymer prepared using Pd-Gr was less colored than the polymer prepared using die homogeneous palladium catalysts. The amount of residual palladium in the polymer prepared by Pd-Gr was determined to be ca. 50 ppm by the ICP plasma emission spectroscopy. However, the residual palladium of ca, 500 ppm was detected in the polymer prepared by palladium acetate. The fact that the amount of palladium in the polymer prepared by Pd-Gr was 10 times less than that in the polymer prepared by p ladium acetate may affect the color of the polymer. [Pg.95]

The supported version of the catalyst was obtained via ROMP using the molybdenum-based Schrock catalyst. An inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) analysis of the polymer revealed a palladium to bis (pyrimidine) ratio of 2 1. The authors speculated that this could be explained by coordination of palladium by alternate and repetitive bis (pyrimidine) units of the polymer chains. [Pg.203]
