Many oxidative addition complexes are stable because four and higher coordination inhibits decomposition via de-insertion and elimination. For benzylhalides that are pendant to a polymer main chain, compounds that exhibit T 3-bonding to the benzyl group are possible. The small molecule analog is the T 3-benzylpalladium chloride dimer. This complex is neither electronically nor coordinately saturated and is therefore not inert to ligand addition. 

Compared to block copolymers, there have been relatively fewer examples of using homopolymers for nanofabrication. Nevertheless, some polymers with amphiphilic properties were also used in the fabrication of nanostructures with various metal salts/complexes. For example, polyaniline (PANI) emeraldine base formed self-organized mesomorphic structures when mixed with Zn(DBS)2 by the coordination between Zn2+ and the imine nitrogen atoms on the polymer main chain.100 The resulting supramolecule PANI[Zn(DBS)2]0.5 had a comb-shaped... 

Soluble i-complexed polymers have also been prepared by means of coordination to alkyne groups in a polymer main chain. Both non-conjugated (e.g. alkynylsilox-anes [93]) and conjugated materials have been studied.
