Polymer Based Plastic Solar Cells

Besides the necessity for improvement in efficiency, stability is another problem for all the applications of conjugated polymers. First experiences on conju- [Pg.515]

The aim of this chapter is to give a state-of-the-art report on the plastic solar cells based on conjugated polymers. Results from other organic solar cells like pristine fullerene cells [7, 8], dye-sensitized liquid electrolyte [9J, or solid state polymer electrolyte cells [10], pure dye cells [11, 12], or small molecule cells [Pg.516]

The chapter is organized as follows the second section will discuss the photophysics of conjugated polymer/fullerene composites as a standard model for a charge-generating layer in plastic solar cells. Pristine polymer devices will be discussed in the third section while bilayer and interpenetrating network devices are presented in Sections 4 and 5. Section 6 contains some remarks on large area plastic solar cells and Section 7 conclusions. [Pg.516]
