Detailed procedures for the synthesis ofa,o>-organofunctionally terminated siloxane oligomers with well defined structures have been given 50,66-67). Tables 6 and 7 provide the data on the synthesis and characteristics of aminopropyl and hydroxybutyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane oligomers prepared via anionic and cationic ringopening polymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D in the presence of appropriate disiloxanes, respectively. 

Synthesis and mechanical and morphological characterization of (AB)n, ABA and BAB type copolymers of m-phenylene-isophthalamide and polydimethylsiloxane have been reported241 242>. The effect of copolymer type, chemical composition and segment molecular weights on phase separation and the solution behavior of these systems have also been discussed. 

The possibility of recycling chloromethane to the DP makes methanolysis an attractive process, as, at least formally, dimethylsiloxanes may be considered as being made of silicon and methanol, with water being the only byproduct. There must be, though, some inherent limitations of this method, considering that the hydrolysis, and not methanolysis, is still a primary industrial method of synthesis of polydimethylsiloxanes. 

In this paper we will discuss the synthesis of a, urhydroxybutyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane oligomers by cationic routes and a,u-aminopropyl terminated poly(dimethy1-diphenyl)siloxane oligomers by anionic methods respectively. Detailed procedures for the synthesis of aminopropyl, carhoxypropyl and glycidoxypropyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane oligomers have already been described elsewhere(1 1). ... 

Methyltrichlorosilane is produced by the Grignard reaction of silicon tetrachloride and methylmagnesium chloride (structure 17.24). Dimethyldichlorosilane, used in the synthesis of polydimethylsiloxane, is obtained by the reaction of methylmagnesium chloride and methyltrichlorosilane (structure 17.25). 

Abstract We review various methods for the photochemical grafting of organic polymers to various substrates including, organic films, membranes, planar gold, silicon wafers, glass, silica gel, silica nanoparticles, and polydimethylsiloxane micro-channels. An emphasis is placed on photoinitiated synthesis of polymer brushes from planar gold and silicon.
