We have studied two vinyl-peptide block copolymers a copolymer polystyrene-poly(Y benzyl-L-glutamate) (SG) and a copolymer poly-styrene-poly (L-glutamic acid) (SE) and the corresponding hydrophobic homopolymers polystyrene (S) and polyCy-benzyl-L-glutamate) (G). The molecular weight of the polystyrene blocks was 25,000 and the polypeptide content of the copolymers was about 50 %. 

An AB block copolymer of polyCy-benzyl L-glutamate) and poly(ethylene oxide) has been made with a lactonamide group at the terminus. This polymer caused adhesion of rat hepatoc rtes which have galactose-specific lectins on their cell surfaces.22...

Gallot and coworkers reported on polybutadiene-block-polyCy-benzyl-L-glutamate) block copolymers that were synthesized by polymerization of the IV-carboxyanhydrides of the corresponding amino acids from amino-terminated polybutadiene [71] (see Figure 19 for an exemplary synthetic route).
