Organic titanates can be used to cross-link sUicones on leather (49). Tetrabutyltitanate and tetrakis( P-aminoethoxy)titanium cross-link sUicones, eg, poly(dimethyl sUoxane), to iacrease both water repeUency and durabUity. For example, good repeUency results from the impregnation of leather with a solution of 10 wt % tetrabutyltitanate ia butyl acetate, foUowed by impregnation with a 9 1 mixture of sUicones and tetrabutyltitanate (50). [Pg.309]

Poly(pyrazolyl)borato ligands offer a variety of coordination modes according to their degree of substitution. Bis and tris(pyrazolyl)hydro-borato derivatives tend to adopt bidentate and tridentate coordination modes almost exclusively (5), while the tetrakis(pyrazolyl)borato ligand... [Pg.294]

The decay of zinc tetrakis(A -methylpyridinium-4-yl(porphyrin 7r-radical cations in the presence of poly(styrenesulfonate) and IrIV oxides or [Ir(OI I )r,]2 has been studied at high pH.46 The hexahydroxide species was found to be very reactive. [Pg.155]

Coordination studies of acyclic thioether ligands to silver(I) centers has also been studied. Poly(alkylthio)aromatic systems have been used to form supramolecular silver(I) compounds. With the ligand 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(isopropylthio)benzoquinone the compound has a linear chain structure in which silver(I) has a tetrahedral coordination.1156 A similar structure has the compound with the hexakis(methylthio)benzene,1157 but with the hexakis(tolylthio)benzene the silver... [Pg.971]

Aime et al. took advantage of the different redox states of manganese and of the difference in the related relaxation properties to design a p02 responsive contrast agent. The adducts formed between Mn /Mnn tpps complexes and poly-P-cyclodex-trin have considerably different relaxivities depending on the redox state of the metal, itself determined by the partial oxygen pressure of the solution (tpps — 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(p-sulfonato-phenyl porphinate) (243). [Pg.113]

Amino acids may be determined by measuring the amines obtained after the action of a carboxylase with a specific electrode for amines, which is based on a poly(vinyl chloride) membrane containing sodium tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate (166) as ion exchanger and tricresyl phosphate as solvent mediator. LOD was 20 and 50 i-M for tyroxine and phenylalanine, determined as tyramine (5) and phenethylamine (33), respectively364. [Pg.1104]

The kinetics and mechanism for oxygen transfer between 4-cyano-V,V,-dimethylaniline V-oxide and a C2-capped mexo-tetraphenylporphyrinatoiron(III) and mc5 o-tetrakis(pentafiuorophenyl)-porphyrinatoiron(III) have been established. Addition of a copper(II) porphyrin cap to an iron(II)-porphyrin complex has the expected effect of reducing both the affinities and rate constants for addition of dioxygen or carbon monoxide. These systems were studied for tetradecyl-substituted derivatives solubilized by surfactants such as poly(ethylene oxide) octaphenyl ether. ... [Pg.467]

Ru(CO)(den-por) (den-por=dendritic porphyrins). These are made by condensation of Ru(CO)L (L=5,10,15,20-tetrato(4 -hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin or 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(3, 5 -dihydroxy-phenyl)porphyrin), themselves made from RUjlCO) and (L), with poly-(benzylether) dendrons H, C NMR, electronic and IR spectra of the products were measured. Epoxidation of cyclic alkenes, cis- and tranx-sfilbene, styrene and its 3-methyl, methoxy, chloro and bromo derivatives, dimethylchromene and of cholesteryl esters in high yields and turnovers was effected by RulCOKden-porl/lCl pyNOl/CHjClj [871]. [Pg.96]

A poly(phenylquinoxaline) was prepared for electroluminescence applications <1996SM(76)105>. Crystallization of solution donor-acceptor complexes of 2,3-dimethylquinoxaline 1,4-dioxide or phenazine 5,10-dioxide with TCNE afforded two-component solids containing weakly bound 1-D donor-acceptor arrays <1997TL7665>. A pyrazine ladder polymer was constructed from two different pyrazine units, as an optical device <1999JA8783>. The new electron-deficient macrocycle tetrakis-2,3-[5,6-di(2-pyridyl)pyrazino]porphyrazine was prepared from l,2-di(2-pyridyl)ethanedione and 2,3-diaminomaleonitrile for a study of its electrochemical properties <2004IC8626>. [Pg.321]

Poly(pyrido[3,4- ]pyrazine vinylene) 693 has been synthesized via condensation of 3,4-diamino-2,5-dibtomopyridine 691 with l,2-bis[3-(2 -ethylhexyloxy)phenyl]-ethane-l,2-dione 692 followed by coupling with l,2-bis(tri- -butyl-stannyl)ethylene in DMF at 110°C in the presence of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium. The vinylene polymer 693 showed improved stability toward photooxidation compared with similar polymers with purely aliphatic side chains and also had smaller band gaps (Equation 58) <2002SM(131)53>. [Pg.833]

Fluorothioketones are more difficult to polymerize. There are two reasons. First, agents that promote polymerization also catalyze dimerization to dithi-etanes, which is a very fast reaction. Second, ceiling temperature of polymerization is low with the result that polymer decomposes back to monomer as it is being isolated. However, poly(hexafluorothioacetone) can be formed at very low temperatures by initiation with dimethylformamide or BF3 etherate, even though at — 78° C the only product isolated is 2,2,4,4-tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)-l,3-di-thietane. [Pg.98]

Tetrakis(acetylacetonato)zirconium, which has a square antiprism structure, shows marked smoke-retarding properties in poly(vinyl chloride)5 and it is effective as an accelerator in anhydride-cured epoxy resins.26... [Pg.1013]

Tetrasodium tetrakis(p-sulfonatophenyl)-porphyrine (TTPS) associates strongly with poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVPRo) in aqueous solution. The equilibrium constant... [Pg.114]
