Poly , green

Xanthene Dyes. This class is best represented by Rhodamine B. It has high fluorescent brilliance but poor light and heat stabihty it may be used in phenohcs. Sulfo Rhodamine is stable and is useflil in nylon-6,6. Other xanthenes used in acryhcs, polystyrene, and rigid poly(vinyl chloride) are Solvent Green 4, Acid Red 52, Basic Red 1, and Solvent Orange 63 (see Xanthene dyes). [Pg.464]

Mamzen Oil Co. has developed various Ziegler-Natta catalysts that can produce poly(butadiene-i //-prop5iene) (PBR) (78). PBR shows tack (self-adhesion) and green (unvulcanized) dynamic properties superior to those of BR and EPDM. Carbon black-loaded vulcanizates can be compounded to give high strength and elongation at break (79,80). PBR can also be covulcanized with SBR, BR, and EPDM. [Pg.185]

Poly[5-(alkylamino)borazines] 7-10 exhibited suitable viscoelastic and thermal stabilities to be extruded in the molten state through the monohole spinneret of a lab-scale melt-spinning apparatus. Thus, an extruded filament (diameter, 200 gm) was drawn with a windup unit, that is, a graphite spool. This provided green fibers with a wide range of diameters (16 =s (f> =s 50 gm Table 2), depending on polymer architecture. [Pg.127]

So far, commercial applications have been developed only for poly(3HB-co-3HV) (Biopol) by ICI [52,142]. This material has been processed into bottles for hair care products (Wella) and biodegradable motor oil [84]. Moreover, various containers, disposable razors, and food trays for holding portions of fish and meat in the refrigerated section of supermarkets were all manufactured from Biopol and sold in Japan [84,143]. In these cases, the rather expensive Biopol is used solely for its green image in order to increase product sales and to open up the market for other applications, which require biodegradability for functional reasons [18]. [Pg.284]

Another significant cooperativity effect in preferential helical screw sense optically active copolymers is the majority rule phenomenon.18bl8q In this case, the screw sense of a helical main chain with unequal proportions of opposite chirality enantiopure chiral side groups is controlled by the enantiomeric excess only. Since this phenomenon was first reported from poly-a-olefins made of vinyl co-monomers bearing nonenantiopure chiral moieties by Green et al.8b and Pino et al.,16b this majority rule has been established in... [Pg.226]

Poly(aniline) films were prepared electrochemically on a Pt electrode potentiostatically at 0.85 V vs Ag/AgCl for 5 s from a 1 M aniline in 1 M LiClC>4/CH3CN solution. The films were a faint blue-green color. Thicker films were formed at greater potentials. Even the very... [Pg.89]

Blends of yellowish-green-light emissive carbazole-containing PPV-based copolymer 105 (Apl = 490, 520 nm, AEL = 533 nm) with blue-emissive oxadiazole- poly-/ -phenylene (PPP) copolymer 106 (AEL = 426 nm) allowed to tune the emission of PLEDs (ITO/polymer blend/Al) from AEL = 533 nm to AEL = 451 nm, although the device turn-on voltage was essentially higher for the blends with increased content of 106 [149] (Chart 2.22). [Pg.80]
