Poly cleaning procedure

For the fabrication of devices, glass substrates (0.7 mm) coated with ITO (80 nm, 10-20 ohm/ square sheet resistance) were used. After routine cleaning procedures for the substrate with wet (acetone and isopropyl alcohol) and dry (UV-ozone) processes, a blended solution of organic materials was spin coated (700 rpm) on top of ITO, precoated with a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) poly(4-styrenesulphonate) (PEDOT PSS) hole-injecting buffer layer. The basic organic solution consisted of a hole transporting material of N,N -diphenyl-... [Pg.107]

An example for the synthesis of poly(2,6-dimethyl-l,4-phenylene oxide) - aromatic poly(ether-sulfone) - poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-pheny-lene oxide) ABA triblock copolymer is presented in Scheme 6. Quantitative etherification of the two polymer chain ends has been accomplished under mild reaction conditions detailed elsewhere(11). Figure 4 presents the 200 MHz Ir-NMR spectra of the co-(2,6-dimethyl-phenol) poly(2,6-dimethyl-l,4-phenylene oxide), of the 01, w-di(chloroally) aromatic polyether sulfone and of the obtained ABA triblock copolymers as convincing evidence for the quantitative reaction of the parent pol3rmers chain ends. Additional evidence for the very clean synthetic procedure comes from the gel permeation chromatograms of the two starting oligomers and of the obtained ABA triblock copolymer presented in Figure 5. [Pg.107]

Polymer-supported hypervalent iodine compounds in general are readily prepared and they have gained recently considerable popularity as reagents for clean oxidations. However, they are not newcomers since they have been known since 1961. A detailed procedure for the iodination of polystyrene and its conversion to poly[(diacetoxyiodo)styrene] appeared in 1972 [85]. However, this and other related methods were time consuming and despite encouraging results did not gain popularity. [Pg.83]

Procedure. With the exception of poly (ethylene terephthalate), 20/ films of each polymer were prepared by the evaporation or approximately 4% solutions in quartz or glass dishes of 50 cm.2 area for extraction experiments. For contact angle measurements, films were evaporated on acid-cleaned microscope slides by a dipping technique. Tetrahydrofuran was used with poly (vinyl chloride), methylene chloride with the other polymers. [Pg.82]
