Polarization correlation long range

QuantlogP, developed by Quantum Pharmaceuticals, uses another quantum-chemical model to calculate the solvation energy. As in COSMO-RS, the authors do not explicitly consider water molecules but use a continuum solvation model. However, while the COSMO-RS model simpUfies solvation to interaction of molecular surfaces, the new vector-field model of polar Uquids accounts for short-range (H-bond formation) and long-range dipole-dipole interactions of target and solute molecules [40]. The application of QuantlogP to calculate log P for over 900 molecules resulted in an RMSE of 0.7 and a correlation coefficient r of 0.94 [41]. [Pg.389]

The carbon and DEPT (distortionless enhanced polarization transfer) spectra are shown in Figure 10. The HETCOR (heteronuclear two-dimensional proton-carbon correlation) spectrum is shown in Figure 11. The carbon assignments are listed in Table 5. Long-range HETCOR experiments were used to make the assignments for the thiophene carbons. [Pg.70]

Heteronudear shift correlation spectroscopy is a 2D technique that can be used to determine the connectivity of H and C nuclei (or other heteronuclei), formally bonded together through one or more chemical bonds. The corresponding experiments make use of either the large or the smaller long-range "Jv, couplings for polarization transfer. [Pg.67]

Cotton-Mouton effect), NMR chemical shift and coupling constants, the optical rotation of polarized light and correlation coefficients between different properties. Extensions to incorporate long-range interactions have also been elaborated11 and it has even been possible to adapt RIS theory for the description of the dynamics of transitions between rotational isomeric states.12,13... [Pg.5]

TABLE 1. Calculated energies for the dissociation of the molecule (Hartree units). The HF results subsequently corrected for correlation (at an MP2 level of approximation) and for long range polarization are reported... [Pg.250]

The local response model of the van der Waals interaction implies a corresponding model of the polarization potential, hence of the long-range limit of the bound-free correlation potential for an electron outside a polarizable charge distribution [12]. The implications of this observation are discussed in the present paper. [Pg.73]

The c/a ratio also correlates with the differences of the electronegativities the compounds with the greatest differences show the largest departure from the ideal c/a ratio [3], The distortions were explained by long-range polar interactions. Only wurtzite structures with c/a ratios lower than the ideal value of 1.633 are stable (otherwise the sphalerite structure is a stable one). The structure parameters for the Ill-nitrides are given in TABLE 1. [Pg.6]
