The names or acronyms given to many applications are not easily recognized for the applications ability to meet a particular need. The list therefore includes several types of systems that have no direct applicability to SARA requirements (e.g., wastewater treatment plant optimization assistance with ordering chemicals). The creation of a comprehensive list of environmented applications provides a higher level of assurance that software that is relevant to Title III has not been overlooked. The list can also be used to eliminate systems from the review process and reduce the effort needed to identify a system that has the required capabilities.

A method is given for predicting the costs of large evaporative type natural and mechanical draft cooling towers as functions of the main design parameters. The costs and parameter factors are expressed analytically for use in power plant optimization programs. 3 refs, cited. 

For radiation intensity, an intensive in-plant optimization study will be required to determine the optimal level of peroxide. Ultimately, the overall system configuration should be based on a priority ranking of variables that are most important to the plant. It should be noted that in these trials, when references are made about stoichiometric mole ratio quantities of hydrogen peroxide, the assumption is made that the target contaminants being treated are 100% pure. In reality, the contaminants are not 100% pure therefore, more peroxide should be used than would theoretically be necessary.
