Plant combined drying processes

The combustor off-gas corresponds to the throughput to the gas cooler (e.g., waste heat boiler) of a commercial plant. The gas analysis is given in Table VII, The values for the conventional stoker type incinerator are those in the case of large cities in Japan. They are average values with the exception of HC1, which is slightly higher. The amounts of particulate, SOx and HC1 contained in the off-gas of the Dry Process PUROX System are much less than those of the stoker incinerator. The reason is considered to be that the Cl", SO , etc. combine with alkali metals and shift into the slag in the converter. 

A much improved ORC-process can be obtained with heat recovery steam (HR-steam) from the TMP-steam reboilers. An integrated mill with a TMP-plant combined with a paper machine is taken here as an example. Paper grade is newsprint with a basis weight of 40 g absolute dry web/m. With a machine speed of 1700 m/min and a sheet width of 10 m the production of paper is 12.3 kg/s air-dry paper with 92 % dry solids. The paper... 

Flavonoids may be extracted from fresh or frozen plant tissues or from herbarium material, although freeze-dried material may also be utilized [34]. It is very important to ensure that the matoial to be extracted is finely divided, whether by cutting or emshing, to ensure proper extraction. Extraction can be carried out successively with methanol containing some 10% of wate and thm with a 1 1 mixture of methanol and water. Each extraction should be carried out for a period of about 2 h, shaking or stirring to facilitate the process. The extracts are then combined for chromatographic separation.
