The FRI cap has a plain skirt however, we also manufacture caps with various cap slot designs. Caps and risers can also be offered to our clients specific requirements. 

Deep-well pumps of the bucket type are designed for use on non-flowing wells where the water does not stand within suction distance. Two methods are employed In the plain tube well (Fig. 6) the well pipe with open ends is sunk to the proper depth where a sufficient water-bearing stratum is penetrated. The strainer A is then lowered to bottom of the well and the well pipe drawn back far enough to expose the slotted portion. The working barrel B is then lowered into the gum packer on top of strainer and tapped firmly into place. The top of the well pipe is provided with a tee for discharge connection. The...

When the workpiece has to be positioned at 90° to the reference surface, it can be clamped to an angle plate (Fig. 3.10). Angle plates are usually made from cast iron and the edges and faces are accurately machined flat, square and parallel. Slots are provided in the faces for easy clamping of the workpiece. Angle plates may be plain or adjustable. 

A staggered-tooth side-and-face cutter, also having teeth on the periphery and on both sides, is designed for deep-slotting operations. In order to reduce chatter and provide maximum chip clearance, the teeth are alternately right-hand and left-hand helix, and each alternate side tooth is removed. Fig. 11.8(d). Staggered-tooth cutters are available in the same sizes as the plain side-and-face type. 

Thus for a fabric of thickness X cm resting on a slotted surface with drainage ribs SX cm wide, particles may become trapped in the tortuous pores existing between the underside of the cloth and the plain solid support. Generally undrained zones greater in width than four times the cloth thickness should be avoided this principle is inherent in the relatively more ef cient performance of dimpled or pipped drainage plates conqiared with vertical channels in pressure filter plates. 

Hoods can have plain openings of a round or square pipe. Hoods may have flanges around their edges, have very narrow slots, and enclose a process. Some hoods form a canopy over a tank or process. For most, the air velocity at some distance in front of the hood is a function of the shape and air flow. Table 25-2 lists properties of various hood types. Slots (small aspect ratio openings) help to distribute uniformly the velocity of air in front of a larger hood face. The face velocity is the air velocity at the hood opening.

Particle size analysis include separation by sieving, sedimentation in a liquid or in air, sedimentation by means of a centrifuge, air separation, optical and X-ray observation of particles moved through a slot by means of a gas or liquid stream. In the latter case also the change of the electrical resistance may be observed. Image analysis of a powder distributed on a plain can be made. 

However, the deep flighted screw improved considerably at 80 and 100 rpm to a similar value to the pin mixer. The steeper lines for the plain and slotted screws were attributed to their positive pressure build-up.
