Since E is proportional to p by Eqn (7.2), dSjdn can be measured from changes in E with temperature. Such measurements as a function of x are slow because the temperature must be cycled at each value of x, and they are plagued by thermoelectric voltages generated in the cells (Dahn and Haering, 1983). 

The transpiring-waU reactor has the potential to minimize many of the corrosion and deposition problems that have plagued previous SCWO studies. Epizootic cycles occur approximately every 5 years. The last large epizootic with a large die-off of rodents (1982-1984) was accompanied by the highest number of humans infected with plague since the urban epidemics of the first quarter of the century. The numbers of rodents slowly recovered to their characteristic levels by 1991, and the stage is now set for another epizootic, with the potential for increased human plague infections.45,46... 

The development of custom applications is generally expensive and is often plagued by uncertainties, such as the duration of the development cycle or the difficulty of assessing costs. Thus, the tendency to shift software development from individual development to an organizational form of industrial manufacturing—in software factories — is not surprising.
