Zolmitriptan Pizotifen

Clinically important, potentially hazardous interactions with amitriptyline, amoxapine, bupropion, citalopram, clomipramine, desipramine, doxepin, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, imipramine, meperidine, nefazodone, nortriptyline, paroxetine, pizotifen, protriptyline, rizatriptan, sertraline, sibutramine, sumatriptan, trimipramine, tryptophan, venlafaxine, zolmitriptan... 

Pizotifen did not alter the pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics of sumatriptan or zolmitriptan, and did not alter the efficacy of acute sumatriptan for migraine. It seems unlikely that any of the other triptans will interact. 

In a double-blind, randomised study, 12 healthy subjeets were given pizotifen 1.5 mg or a plaeebo onee daily for 8 days, with oral zolmitriptan 10 mg on day 8. Pizotifen did not signifieantly alter the pharmacokineties of zolmitriptan, and no olinieally relevant ehanges in heart rates or ECGs or blood pressures were seen as a result of eoneurrent use. ...
