Zinc sulfide (ZnS) is used as a pigment and to make white glass, rubber, and plastics. It is an ingredient in pesticides, luminous paints, and X-ray and television screens. 

CdSe forms solid solutions with CdS which are used as pigments ranging in color from orange to deep maroon and are called cadmium sulfoselenides. Other uses are in photocells, rectifiers, luminous paints, and as a mby colorant for glass manufacture. CdSe currently sells for 1.50/g as ph osphor-grade (99.999% purity) material. 

Zinc sulfate has been used as a mordant in calico printing for preserving wood and skins for the manufacture of other zinc salts for clarifying glue and in electrodeposition processes. The sulfide is used as a pigment and as a source of other pigments ZnS is used in X-ray and television screens and, with a trace of a radium or mesothorium salt, in luminous dials of watches. The telluride has been used as a photoconducting semiconductor. 

Egg tempera was used as a paint medium at least as early as the fourteenth century. It was the dominant medium in Europe until the development of oil paint. In egg tempera, powdered pigment is bound with egg and water. Paint is applied layer upon layer, imparting a luminous quality unlike any other paint medium. Oatpla4 was cloned initially from rat brain. It consists of 661 amino adds and is 77% identical to Oatplal [37]. The protein was expressed at the basolateral membranes of hepatocytes and choroid plexus epithelial cells, at the abluminal and luminal domains of brain capillary endothelial cells, and at the apical microvilli of the retinal pigment epithelium [14, 38-40]. Other flavonoids that are able to enhance the luminal release of PG in vivo are the glucoside of hypolaetin [117], the anthocyanidin pigment IdB 1027 [213], and the flavonic extract of Bidens aurea [214] therefore their antiulcer effect could be related to an enhancement of PGE2 levels in gastric mucosa and also to a generalized stimulation of the defensive mucosal mechanisms.
