Pick count

Fabric weave. Fabric weave pattern can influence the properties such as drape-ability, tightness, etc. of a fiber product. The quantities of relevance in this regard are pick count, fabric areal weight, etc. [Pg.236]

Pick count weave Also called woof or weft count. It is an individual filling yarn running the width of a woven fabric at right angles... [Pg.107]

S = Sateen T = Twill dj, Calculated pore size from dp = 44/iT ec,pc = end count and pick count respectively. [Pg.142]

Pick Count—The number of filhng yarns per unit length of woven roving. [Pg.9]

Pick count n. The number of filling yarns per inch or per centimeter of fabric. [Pg.718]

The tests associated with fiber characterization basically are density (ASTM D 792, D 3800, D 1505), weight of unit length, filament diameter, thermal expansion, electrical conductivity, and the tensile strength (ASTM D 3379). In the case when a fabric is used, the pick count which is the number of tows per millimeter need to be established. In addition the weight per unit area, and the tensile strength (ASTM D 579) must also be known. [Pg.33]

We assign an index number to each of the polymer molecules and pick up the analysis of the problem after i polymer molecules have already been placed on an otherwise empty lattice. Our first question, then, concerns the number of ways the (i + l)th polymer molecule can be placed in the lattice. The polymer is to be positioned one repeat unit at a time, so it is an easy matter to count the number of available positions for the first segment of the (i + l)th molecule. Since the total lattice consists of N sites and ni of these are already occupied, the first segment of the (i + l)th molecule can be placed on any one of the N - ni remaining sites. [Pg.514]

Turbine flow meters are composed of some form of rotary device such as a helical rotor, Pelton wheel or a vane mounted in the flow stream. The fluid passing the rotor causes the rotor to turn at an angular velocity which is proportional to the flow velocity and hence the volumetric flowrate through the meter. The rotary motion of the rotor is sensed by some form of pick-up device that produces an electrical pulse output. The frequency of this signal is proportional to the flowrate and the total count of pulses is proportional to the total volume of liquid passed through the meter. [Pg.271]

Aye, madam, Margaret called. As I reached the foot of the stair, she caught at my hand and squeezed it fiercely. A Dieu, brother. Then she picked up her skirts and was gone. Elysabeth was counting the bundles of pitch-soaked arrows and the cressets that would be used to light them. [Pg.247]

The noise-free Stern-Volmer lifetime plots are clearly curved, which indicates a failure of a two discrete site model. However, this is a difficult nonlinear least-squares fitting problem, and the unquenched apparent lifetimes are within a factor of two of each other. Thus, for real data, it is much more difficult to pick up on the nonlinearities and exclude a discrete two-site model. For distributions with smaller R s, of course, fitting becomes too difficult for reliable model testing at least at 104 counts in the peak channel. [Pg.98]

Use the spell check feature of the software used to create your electronic resume and then proofread the document carefully. Just as applicant-tracking software is designed to pick out keywords from your resume that showcase you as a qualified applicant, these same software packages can also instantly count the number of typos and spelling errors in your document and report that to an employer as well. [Pg.134]
