Phthalides lovage root

Lovage root Levisticum officinale Koch 3-Butyl phthalide (32), ligusti-Ude (24), Ugusticum lactone ... [Pg.83]

The composition of lovage root and leaves have been reviewed [155-157]. Lawrence also reviewed [158] two major studies by Toulemonde et aL, who comprehensively and quantitatively elucidated the 15 active phthalides present in lovage. [Pg.171]

Lovage (L. officinale) accumulates in the leaves always a-terpinyl-acetate as main compound (40%-80%) besides a lower level of p-phellandrene (15%-28%). The main components of the roots 3-butylidene-phthalide and Z-ligustilide are only in lower concentrations—not rarely only in traces—present (Novak, 2006). The composition of the fruits is similar to that of the leaves with P-phellandrene as main component up to 60% (Bylaite et al., 1998). [Pg.103]
