The resulting names are quite diflFerent from the names previously in use, but they do have the advantage of usually starting with "phosph (good for indexes and other records). Thus thiophosphoric acids became phosphorothioic, phos-phorodithioic, phosphorotrithioic, and phosphorotetrathioic acids. Amidophos-phoric acids became phosphoramidic acid and phosphorodiamidic acid. For the halogen-substituted acids such names as phosphorochloridic acid and phosphoro-dichloridothioic acid are used.

Phosphorochloridic acid dibenzyl ester (Fig. 16, 35) is a sluggish reagent [143], and it can yield in addition to the target peptide a great number of unidentified by-products [144]. Better results have been obtained with phosphorochloridic acid dipentafluorophenyl ester (Fig. 16, 36) [145]. 

Although the phosphorochloridic acids are, in principle, related as in (5.263), they are more difficult to isolate than their fluoro analogues. Phosphorodichloridic acid can be prepared by the hydrolysis of pyrophosphoryl chloride at -60°C (5.279) or from phosphoryl chloride and water (5.280). It is a clear liquid, stable in the absence of air and has a melting point of -18°C. 

The novel phosphorochloridic acid TMSE ester (49) was used to phosphorylated ketoxime (50) followed by an improved microwave method for the synthesis of ketoxime phosphate prodrugs (51) aimed at improving the aqueous solubility and hence, bioavailability of various parent drugs (Scheme 9). ...
