Phosphines with improved Solubility in Aromatic Solvents 

By the reaction with 10-chlorophenoxyphosphines, two bulky phosphine groups were incorporated. As a result of this modification, the solubility of the parent ligand in toluene was dramatically enhanced. Differences of 2-500 mmol 1 were observed in relation to the length of the alkyl chain. In the hydroformylation of 1-octene and tr s-2-octene, the l/h ratio increased when less bulky substituents were applied. However, ligands with a solubility
