Phase resolution

Figure 10.12 shows the phase difference measured between channels of each pair when no phase change was introduced in any of the channels. The phase resolution (S/N =1) for each pair of channels, as determined from these measurements, is 1 xlO 4 x 2n, which corresponds to a refractive index resolution of —8.5 x 10 8 RIU (refractive index units) at a bandwidth of 1 Hz.

Notice that the calculated spectrum block always is of type Single-Channel In addition, one can also save the Phase spectrum and the Power spectrum, which can be calculated from the parts of the interferogram known from forward and backward scans with the Phase Resolution setting. 

The Phase Resolution is the resolution for computing the phase. Normally the same resolution as was used for the measurement should be used.

Bioimpedance measurements were conducted with a BIS device (SFB7, ImpediMed, Pinkeba, Australia) covering a frequency range of 5 kHz to 1 MHz. This device has an impedance accuracy of 1% and a phase resolution of 0.1° using adhesive electrodes. To ensure rehable measurements, the body position was not altered and electrode sites were cleaned before attaching the electrodes. For this trial, the whole-body and hand-to-hand bioimpedance is analyzed. Extracellular resistance intracellular resistance (i ,) and capacitive effects CJ are calculated using the Cole model [6]. 

For evaluation of the pelvic sidewall and lymph node staging, an additional proton-density or a Tl-weighted sequence in transverse orientation should be performed (see Fig. 7.11). The acquisition starts at the level of the aortic bifurcation and extends to below the pelvic floor. A slice thickness of 6 mm is used, with a 512 matrix and a phase resolution of at least 60%.
