Additional clues as far as the chemical and pharmacological properties of plants can be found in the historical sources. To end this section, we would like to analyze briefly some of those reports in the "Libellus" and in the History of Plants from New Spain by Hernandez that have been confirmed or largely overlooked in past chemical and pharmacological studies. The careful analysis of these ancient reports today could suggest new strategies in the investigation of Montanoa s phytochemicals. [Pg.816]
