Perfect stage

B Gametangia unlike perfect stage represented by oospores zygote produced by fertilization imperfect reproductive stage represented by zoospores or by conidia producing zoospores, rarely by conidia germinating directly.

Fungi of the genus Helminthosporium are responsible for several leaf spot and other diseases of cereals and grasses. After the initial work on their metabolites had been reported, many of these organisms were reclassified as Bipolaris species. The perfect stage of some of these fungi is Cochliobolus and hence there can be confusion as to the source of a metabolite. 

A sub-division of the fungi containing the Fungi Imperfecti in which a perfect stage of reproduction is unknown or rarely found.

Each of the two contacting phases (gas and solid) can be either in plug flow (perfectly staged) or backmixed (perfectly mixed) condition. At this stage of reactor selection it is only necessary to specify what the ideal contacting pattern ought to be the technical limits of feasibility are taken into account in a subsequent analysis. 

There is continuous transfer of material between phases, and the composition of each phase changes as it flows through the tower. At any given level, of course, equilibrium is not reached indeed, it is the departure from equilibrium that provides the driving force for material transfer. Molar ratios of sugar con onents cited for T. mesenterica GXM are from work with the same strain (NRRL Y-6158) in different laboratories (, ). A similar comparison is made for work on GXM from C. laurentii Y-1401 (, 4 ). Apparently, variation in composition can occur due to different conditions of production. The C. neoformans polysaccharides are from serotypes A (E. Reiss, unpublished) and B (10). Data on T. fusiformis GXM is from recent work by Sone and Misaki (11) on material extracted from the outer cell wall of the haploid form. Similar polysaccharides have been isolated from fruiting bodies (12) and cell walls (15,14) of the perfect stages of T. mesenterica and other Heterobasidiae,... 

As far as the 1953 selection of the Nobel Prize winners for science is concerned, one could look at this event as a perfect stage management of the Nobel Committee. The Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology went to Hans Krebs for the Citric acid cycle and enzymatic reactions , to Fritz Lipmann for Coenzyme A , and the Nobel Prize for Chemistry to Hermann Staudinger [7, p. 1064]. In addition, Watson and Crick had just rang in molecular biology definitely with their Nature article on their DNA model [18].
