Pellets Small spheres of sucrose saturated with an alcoholic tincture, primarily used in homeopathic medicine. Pellets are made in different sizes, designated according to the diameter of ten pellets measured in millimeters. Remington s Practice of Pharmacy (1926) states that pellets should be made of the purest materials, should be perfectly white and odorless and able to withstand all the tests prescribed for sucrose or cane sugar (also see Globules)P ... [Pg.963]

The conductivity at 300°K along the long axis of one such crystal (only one sample has been investigated so far) was 40 n cm" This value seems low for the main axis conductivity of this material if one considers the high value found for the compressed pellet measurement. It may be that the axis along which this measurement was made is not the b axis but one of the other crystallographic axes. X-ray work to elucidate the structure is under way. [Pg.39]

Place 50 ml distilled water in a 150-mL beaker. Measure about 4 g NaOH pellets on a balance. Add the NaOH pellets to the beaker one at a time. Mix with a stirring rod until each NaOH pellet dissolves before adding the next pellet. Measure about 6 g Epsom salts (MgS04) and place it in another 150-mL beaker. Add 50 mL distilled water to the Epsom salts. Mix with another stirring rod until the Epsom salts dissolve. [Pg.301]

Abstract Theoretical, experimental principles and the applications of the frequency response (FR) method for determining the diffusivities in microporous and bidispersed porous solid materials have been reviewed. Diffusivities of hydrocarbons and some other sorbates in microporous crystals and related pellets measured using the FR technique are presented, and the FR data are analysed to demonstrate the identification of the FR spectra. These results display the ability of the FR method to discriminate multi-kinetic mechanisms, including a surface resistance or surface barrier occurring simultaneously in the systems, which are difficult to be determined using other microscopic or macroscopic methods. The FR measurements also showed that the diffusivity of a system depends significantly on the subtle differences in molecular shape and size of sorbates in various... [Pg.235]

Lai et al. investigated the conductivity of the ammonium forms of natrolite and a synthetic mordenite. Their results resemble the results already reported above for ammonium zeolites. Conductivities measured on wet pellets were 8 x 10" Q cm for mordenite and 6 X 10 cm for natrolite. For pellets measured in air (RH not specified) the conductivities were 3-4 orders of magnitude lower. [Pg.216]

The radial blanket is composed of depleted uranium dioxide pellets measuring 12.15 mm in diameter, in 90 assemblies of 61 pins each. The structural components of these subassemblies are identical with those of the fissile subassemblies, with sodium flow through the spike inserted into the diagrid. [Pg.23]

In all these conditions, the as-obtained pellet measured 4.5mm in height and 8mm in diameter and present remarkable mechanical properties. [Pg.75]

The electrical conductivity of the sintered pellets, measured by two-probe technique, increased with Sr content at 1000°C, and the values were much lower than those measured by other techniques in the literature. [Pg.241]

The material to be presented is divided into five sections preparation of solids, measurement of reaction rates, auxiliary measurements for characterizing the structure of porous pellets, measurement of diffusion coefficients, and the synthesis of this information for the design of experimental studies of gas-solid reaction systems. [Pg.205]
