Patchiness

At this stage of development, loiowledge of ionic liquid properties is patchy, to say the least. For some applications only limited, very specific information is needed to allow the translation of a research project into technical reality (mostly non-synthetic applications). For others (mostly synthetic applications), a lot more detailed information, sldlls, and data are required to make the technology feasible. This process takes time, even though the ever growing ionic liquid community has already added a lot of information to the ionic liquid toolbox . 

A patchy form of rust that attacks paint films from underneath, can be caused by sweaty hands, residues from fluxes, etc. Examples of the latter include residues from phosphating and soluble salts (including those from unsuitable rinsing water) and they can manifest themselves on steel in the form of a creeping filiform corrosion, i.e. as progressing threads of rust which loosen the coating. This can be followed visually through transparent films. It occurs, however, only when the relative humidity of the surround-... 

It should be noted that for polymerization-modified perlite the strength parameters of the composition algo go up with the increasing initial particle size. [164]. In some studies it has been shown that the filler modification effect on the mechanical properties of composites is maximum when only a portion of the filler surface is given the polymerophilic properties (cf., e.g. [166-168]). The reason lies in the specifics of the boundary layer formation in the polymer-filler systems and formation of a secondary filler network . In principle, the patchy polymerophilic behavior of the filler in relation to the matrix should also have place in the failing polymerization-modified perlite.
