Partial Factors Ym for Materials and Products

Type A applications refer to a total strengthening system where both the materials and the whole system applied on a defined substrate are certified, while type B applications refer to systems where only the materials are certified. 

The designer will choose the type to use during the design phase and then the site manager/supervisor will have to assess whether the chosen application type is appropriate for the requirements.

For the ultimate limit states, a unit value for each partial factor for fiber-reinforced composites is required, except for specific and provided cases. 

For the ultimate limit states, the values recommended for the partial factors of the different resistance models are those listed in Table 5.2.
