I might add that the number of words needed as we transit between languages also has do with syntax and spelling conventions. In German Bundestag is one word, whereas Federation parliament in English is two and chambre de deputes de la federation in French is six. 

Wilfried Sahm sits on the board of the European Chemical Industry Council and is director-general of the German Chemical Industry Association, where he also sits on the Presidential Council. Wilfried Sahm worked at Hoechst for 20 years, ultimately as head of agrochemical production and deputy head of the company s agrochemical sector. He studied chemistry in Munster, receiving his doctorate in 1969. From 1992 to 1998 he was an expert member of the Enquete-Kommission set up by the German federal parliament to investigate the protection of humanity and the environment.

On March 20, 1979, and July 3, 1979, the members of the Bundestag, the lower house of the then West German Parliament, debated on the rescission of the statute of limitations for murder. The corresponding bill was passed into law on July 3,1979, with a very close margin of 255 to 222 votes.3...

On March 23, German democracy completed its capitulation. The parliament handed Hitler s government absolute power. Even the party that Fritz Haber had supported, the liberal Deutsche Stuatspartd, voted for the measure. Only the Social Democrats voted against it. Communist members of the Reichstag were prevented from voting because of unspecified security concerns.
