Palladium chalcogenides

Thiele and co-workers 389) prepared the only known palladium chalcogenide halides, PdTel and Pd Sels, by hydrothermal synthesis in HI (see Section II,D,2) at 300°C, starting with the elements. Crystalline PdzSelj is better obtained by reaction of Pdl2 with Se and an excess of iodine in a closed ampoule at 250°C (reaction time, 2 days). 

Pt(S2CNMe(Hex))2] and [Pd(S2CNMe(Hex))2] have been synthesized and used as precursors to grow the first TOPO-capped PtS and PdS nanoparticles and thin films of PtS and PdS by the metallo-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) method [204]. Platinum and palladium chalcogenides find applications in catalysis [205-210] and materials science [211,212]. The synthesis of thiocarbamato complexes of platinum and palladium from reaction of an aqueous solution of ammonium dithiocarbamate with the platinum or palladium salt has been reported by Nakamoto et al. [213]. However...

Chalcogenides are commonly synthesized by this method. The metal sulphide syntheses have been carried out in ethanol, water, " and ethylenediamine, " whereas the sources of metal ions have been acetates or the chlorides. The precursor for sulfur is usually thioacetamide or thiourea. Nanoparticle synthesis of d-block elements have also been carried out, for example, platinum, gold, cobalt, iron, palladium, gold, nickel, and bimetallic alloys such as Co/Cu, 52i Pt/Ru, i Au/Pd, i Fe/Co. ...
