Padding method fabric

In the batchwise process the temperature can be raised to 80°C to promote levelness providing dyes not sensitive to reductive breakdown are used. In the continuous appHcation method the vat dye is padded onto fabric and dried under conditions that avoid migration, passed through a solution of sodium hydrosulfite and caustic, through a pad mangle, and then steamed in saturated steam for up to 60 s. [Pg.358]

Nonstabilized foams are referred to as froths froth-bonded fabrics are similar in properties to some saturation-bonded nonwovens. Typical foams used as nonwoven binder solutions have a consistency similar to shaving cream. AppHcation methods include knife-edge layering onto a horizontal web surface followed by vacuum penetration, and saturation and penetration of a vertical web surface using a horizontal-nip pad. Drying and curing is carried out in ovens, dmm dryers, or steam cans. [Pg.154]

In the United States tubular knitted fabric is dyed by the pad-batch method for oudets where the edge mark formed as the double thickness tube passes through the padder is accepted. In Europe it is usual to sHt tubular knitted fabric before padding in order to avoid any edge marks. [Pg.356]

Pad-batch dyeing shows its primary benefits over other methods where it is possible to apply the dye on grey (unbleached) minimally prepared fabric, eg, T-shirts, followed by washing on the same perforated beam used to batch the fabric after dyeing. Where a bleached fabric base is needed, the bleaching is best carried out using peroxide by pad-batch technique in order to ensure an even effect and pick up when padding the dye Hquor. Similarly all other preparation is best carried out in open-width. [Pg.356]

FiaaHy, ia method (4) the fabric is padded with a mixture of medium energy disperse dyes, carehiUy selected higher reactivity, and rapid diffusiag fiber-reactive dyes, up to 10 g/L sodium bicarbonate depending on depth of shade, and proprietary auxiHary agents. [Pg.366]

Thermal Fixation Properties of Disperse Dyes on Polyester—Gotton. This method assesses the fixation properties of disperse dyes as a function of the time, temperature, dyestuff concentration, or presence and amount of auxiUary agents. The polyester—cotton fabric is padded and dried, the cotton dissolved in sulfuric acid and washed out of the blend, and the amount of dye on the polyester component assessed by either reflectance or measuring the optical density of a solution of dye obtained by extracting the dye with boiling chloroben2ene solvent. [Pg.377]

Chitosan CHITON Co. Ltd., Gdynia, Poland), having a deacetylation degree of 83% and viscosity (1% water solution of acetic acid, pH 3.5—4) of 20 mPas, was deposited on wool fabric pre-treated with enzymes using the pad-dry-fix method [19],... [Pg.132]

The volumetric add-on of foam can also be used to control the dry pick-up on the fabric when the application method Is knife coating, But for horizontal pad application, dry pickup Is best controlled by the blow ratio,... [Pg.164]
