Glitsch Packing Factors for Cascade Mini-Rings... [Pg.290]

Further data on HETP for packings smaller than 38 mm is presented in Figure 11.59, where it may be seen that some of the newer packings, such as Pall rings and Mini rings, give a relatively constant value of HETP over a wide range of vapour rates. [Pg.640]

In Chemical Engineering Progress, 74 (4), 2, 61-65 (1978), Eastham and co-workers describe a new packing called the Cascade Mini-Ring . [Pg.436]

A distillation column has two sections. The one above the feed is 14 ft in inside diameter with a 20-fl height, 15 ft of which is packed with structured packing of the corrugated-sheet type. The bottom section is 16 ft in diameter with a 70-ft height, 60 ft of which is packed with 4-in. Cascade mini-rings. [Pg.534]

A further modification of the Pall ring was developed by Mass Transfer Limited. Their Cascade (trademark Mass Transfer Ltd.) Mini-Ring also is a cylinder with fingers punched from the wall projecting into the interior of the ring however, the height of the cylinder is only one-third the outside diameter. This shape is said to orient itself preferentially when dumped into a packed bed. [Pg.7]

The main reason for the first type of maldistribution is the maldistribution of the packing itself, which is especially important in case of random packings. In Fig. 9 the void fraction of Cascade Mini-Ring lA with a nominal size of 25 mm versus the distance from the wall in a 600 mm diameter column are presented. The data are obtained by Toye et al. [144] by means of... [Pg.550]
