Reverse auction. Combinatorial auctions are also proposed for procurement problems in markets with one buyer and multiple sellers. The reverse combinatorial auction is formulated as a set covering problem rather than a set packing problem. An interesting (and complicating) issue that arises in this setting is that there are various business rules that are used to constrain the choice of winners. This sounds too good to be true. . . and to some extent it is. As we reduce particle size, other problems arise and must be addressed. Table XVin summarizes the application of the above analysis to the question of Optimum particle size for different compounds. First, we see that an optimum particle size for proteins with M 10,000 is 1 itm or less. While such particles have been made (772, 774), procures for packing them into efficient columns have not yet been reported. So new column packing techniques will have to be learned, possibly combined with change in the derign of the column blank, frits, fittings, etc. 

The expected pressure drops on gas side (though depending on the clear internal diameter of the tower for given flow rates of gas and Uquid) it can vary with the type of packing filled in. This should be discussed with the manufacturer before procurement of the same. 

The author feels that component costs as well as rechargeable battery pack costs will go down as the sale of EVs and HEVs increase in the future. On the basis of the information gathered from a few automobile dealers and rechargeable battery pack suppliers, the author expects that procurement costs for lithium-based rechargeable battery packs will go down from current prices by 15 to 20% within three to four years.
