P-adrenergic blockers

Among the indole derivatives which have found use as drugs are indo-methacin, one of the first non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agentsfll], sumatriptan, which is used in the treatment of migraine headaches[12] and pindolol[13], one of the p-adrenergic blockers. 

Synthetic Derivatives of Indoles as Pharmaceuticals. Thousands of indole derivatives have been prepared and evaluated as potential pharmaceuticals (32). Of those which have been put into use perhaps the most important are the nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent indomethacin [53-86-1] (10) (33) and the p-adrenergic blocker pindolol [13823-86-9] (11) (34). 

Sharpless used asymmetric epoxidation as the crucial method in the preparation of the p-Adrenergic blocker, (S)- propanolol (Eqn. (26)). 

Consider glucagon 2-10 mg IV bolus followed by a 2-10 mg/h continuous IV infusion in P-adrenergic blocker or calcium channel blocker-induced bradycardia not responsive to atropine... 

Sotalol Sotalol Avoid Adenosine P-adrenergic blockers Calcium channel blockers Digoxin... 

Hypotension and bradycardia may be seen if combined with a P-adrenergic blocker... 

Opioids, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, corticosteroids, dopamine agonists (e.g., amantadine, bromocriptine, levodopa, pergolide, pramipexole, ropinirole), H2-receptor antagonists, anticholinergics (e.g., diphenhydramine, trihexylphenidyl), P-adrenergic blockers, clonidine, methyldopa, carbamazepine, phenytoin, baclofen, cyclobenzaprine, lithium, antidepressants (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), and interleukin-2... 

Used in P-adrenergic blocker and calcium channel blocker intoxication... 

P-adrenergic blockers or clonidine may be utilized in conjunction with benzodiazepines in patients with coronary artery disease who may not tolerate adrenergic excess ° Limited experience with dexmedetomidine...

Clinical reports on minoxidil indicate that the drug is effective, particularly in cases which are refractory to other drugs (21. 22). It has the typical side-effects of a vasodilator and co-administration of a diuretic and a p-adrenergic blocker is recommended in many of the reported studies (21-28).

A similar type of fragmentation dominates the spectrum of other local anaesthetics such as prilocaine and procaine and sympathomimetics such as ephedrine, salbutamol and terbutaline and P-adrenergic blockers such as propranolol and oxyprenolol.
