Oxygen transport through membranes

Oxygen transport through membranes of iPP/HOCP blends was studied as a function of the weight fraction of the two components. The results showed that increasing HOCP content lowers oxygen permeability and difiusivity through the films. The HOCP has an antiplasticizing effect and produces a hmitation in penetrant mobfiity (11). [Pg.122]

Experimentally this facilitated transport has been tested [40, 46, 47, 113] in our group for the facilitation of CO2 and oxygen transport through membranes. [Pg.463]

Oxygen transport through the solid state can be caused by the difference in both electrical and chemical potentials. The last effect can be used for the development of oxygen-selective ceramic membranes. The demands of materials for such membranes are similar to the demands for solid electrolytes high density in order to prevent physical penetration of the gas and a high coefficient of oxygen... [Pg.604]

However, for mixed oxygen ion-electron conducting materials the surface processes can become rate limiting for oxygen transport through the membrane rather than bulk diffusion. Under surface reaction we understand the... [Pg.193]

Easily presented in Fig. 1, electrode reactions are much more difficult (see also Solid Electrolytes Cells, Electrochemical Cells with Solid Electrolytes in Equilibrium). The mass of oxygen transported through gas-dense solid electrolyte membranes (OT02) can be exactly determined by the measurement of electrical current (I) following due to the Faraday s law ... [Pg.1499]

Accordingly, the total decomposition of N2O can be achieved in the membrane reactor [88]. To increase the driving force for oxygen transport through the membrane, methane or ethane can be fed to the permeate side of the membrane to consume the permeated oxygen. Figure 5.11... [Pg.174]
